A few months ago Sony’s hottest and most powerful gaming console, the Playstation 3, entered the market for the very first time.
We had been promised that it would be the best thing the gaming world had ever seen, and for those lucky few who were able to brave the sleet and snow, the wind and the rain for several nights outside of Circuit City, the Playstation 3 could be easily called one of the best electronics of the year.
Unfortunately, because of supply shortages and problems with manufacturing, the Playstation 3 was unavailable in many parts of the world, leaving gamers of all types out in the cold without even the slightest possibility that they would receive a PS3 system this year for the holidays.
However, if you or someone you know was lucky enough to find a brand new PS3 console, now is the time to purchase some games for it. Whenever a new gaming system enters the market for the first time, there are usually a few games that come with it.
These games, often referred to as launch titles, give a pretty good idea of what to expect in the life of the console. While most of the launch titles for any system cannot truly harness the power of such new technology, they do provide us with a glimpse of things to come in the next few years.
The Playstation 3 actually had a rather small amount of launch titles though, making it somewhat difficult to deduce exactly what the future will hold for Sony’s high end video gaming system.
Without a doubt, if you want to get the hottest PS3 game that was released with the console, you will want to pick up
Resistance: Fall of Man. This PS3 game has it all – high intensity combat, first person view, a unique setting and an original storyline that is sure to keep you engrossed for hours on end.
Unfortunately though, if you want more PS3 games to add to your collection at this point, you will have to settle for marginal titles that fare well, but are not likely to be any of the greatest games ever released for the system.
A PS3 game that every comic book lover should pick up is the new Marvel superhero based game, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.
If you are looking for some great superhero action that spans across the entire Marvel universe, this is certainly a game that you will love. You can command a wide selection of heroes from the X-Men to the Fantastic Four to Spiderman as they all attempt to thwart the plans of some of Marvel’s famous super villains.
Finally, sports fans have quite a selection of Sony PlayStation 3 game choices at this point – all of which are pretty decent. From hockey to football to basketball to golf to car racing, there are a wide variety of sports titles that are available as PS3 games, and all are sure to get any guy and his friends all riled up for hours on end.

Three PS3 Titles Delayed Release
If you were most looking forward to playing Motorstorm, Fatal Inertia or Bladestorm on your PS3 then I'm afraid you will have to wait a little longer, all three titles have had their launch date put back until the summer at the earliest.
So they will not be ready for the UK launch either.. Sorry guys!
Apparently the delay of Motorstorm is because of last minute fine tuning and the addition of an online play option which can only be a good thing.
The other two games have had a development extension to take advantage of new game engines and hardware which again will only benefit the gamer in the end.
In the long run a few more months is a small price to pay for something that will be as good as it can be, I would rather the developers take a bit more time and make it great than rush out a game that may not live up to the PS3 name.

The evolution of the Sony PlayStation 3 game system
It is interesting when a person who has been around the world of video games and game systems for the better part of three decades takes a glimpse at the Sony PlayStation 3. To a great degree, the PS3 is something that was once only dreamed possible in the realm of a science fiction movie. While some may feel that such a statement is a bit of a stretch, the facts do not lie: the advancements of home entertainment game systems in the last few decades have been logarithmic.
In the year 1976, the video game system Pong debuted from the folks at Atari. Pong was little more than animated rectangles and squares forming such athletic contests such as hockey, tennis, soccer, etc. The whole thing was primitive and engaging, but Pong’s days at the top of the home entertainment heap would not last very long. The reason was that progress was coming and the Atari 2600, Intelivision and Colecovision home gaming systems would put the nail in the coffin of those entertainment systems that came before it. Oh well, that is just the way things go.
Today, the Sony PlayStation 3 is the new link in the chain of video game evolution and software. It is no surprise that the anticipation that surrounds the release of the game is at the fever pitch that currently exists. The reason that the fever pitch is where it is at is that the graphics and advancements that are present with the system are so far beyond what people had previously seen, that there is great anticipation and desire to give the game a try or, more accurately, purchase the game, try it out and then keep on trying it until the fourth system makes its debut!
The sound quality of the Sony PS3 is pretty amazing and it is no surprise that the audio plays represents a great deal of the motivation that is behind the buzz in regards to wanting to purchase the Sony PlayStation 3. The whirring and buzzing noises of 1981’s Atari 2600 have long since faded to memory and the awesome sound quality of the PS3 leaves those old systems to the dustbin of history. (This, of course, is not to say that those old systems do not have their own classic charm; but, rather to merely draw a few minor comparisons)
The hype around the Play Station 3 is quite well deserved as it is definitely a system that delivers on all its promises. While there will always be critics, there will also be those who will be hard pressed to find any negatives or flaws with what is clearly one of the most superior gaming systems ever invented.

PS3 Predicted to become top Dog
As if we didn't already know that!
According to Datamonitor the PS3 will reach 75 million console sales by 2010 with the Xbox 360 coming second with 40 million and the cute little Wii will be runner up with 31 million sales.
Now, I don't know if anyone commissioned this report of how much Datamonitor invested in this but if they just asked me I could have told them the same! And I would have done it for a beer!
So it looks like Sony will have the console crown again at least for the next few years until the next battle commences. - Hey Sony! If your reading this... Make sure you put the rumble pack in the next one!!!

Are you ready to Rumble!
So, we know that Sony decided to get rid of the rumble function on the new PS3 controllers..
That didn't go down very well to say the least and I myself am going to miss it, when you are desperately gunning down a hoard of advancing Nazi's there's nothing better to get your heart thumping like the rumble from the controller as you drop them one by one!
But it seems someone forgot to tell 2K Sports, the makers of NBA 2K7.
In the manual it referrers to the support of the rumble function. It says:
"Once you start feeling your heart rate pumping (via controller vibration), you'll be ready to begin!"
err.. Sorry guys. Nice idea but it's not gunna happen!

Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection - Available for Download
Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection has just been released in the PS3 shop for download to Japanese gamers only at this stage, BUT... if you follow the instructions below you can still buy it online even if you're in the US!
On your PS3 you need to add a new user and fill in all the details it asks for including credit card info, but when it asks for Country put in Hong Kong then choose any city.
Once your new user account is created you need to go into the account management section on the far right of the screen, and choose transaction management then manage wallet, next you need to choose the add funds option but this is where it gets a little tricky, if you add more than $50 Sony admin will check up on the address details on your credit card and Sus you out, so just add $40 to your wallet twice, now remember that this is in Hong Kong dollars as this is where your PS3 thinks your from so this is not quite enough, but all you do now is go to the store and buy the game, it will ask you if you want to add more funds, now you can add another $45 Hong Kong dollars which should give you a total of roughly £125 HK dollars which is actually only about $15 US dollars which is enough to buy the game! It's a long winded process but if you can't wait for the US release it's there waiting for you!

Hello and Welcome to my PS3 blog.
Let me first tell you a bit myself and what I aim to achieve here.
My name is Andy and I run a website called The PS3 Guru.com - as you can guess it's all about the mighty Sony PlayStation 3 that has been recently released in Japan, the US and Canada, but unfortunately for me still to be released in the UK and Europe!
I would like to use this space to discuss anything and everything PS3 related, things like forthcoming games releases, bugs, cheats, even Sony corp. rumors!
I would like to try and get some good feedback on some of the games so if you would like to write a review on a game you particularly like or dislike email me on contactsupport @ aol .com and I'll post it up on here so we can all benefit from it.
I would love to hear your comments on all of the issues I raise, so get posting your comments, I don't mind if you disagree!
